IWA 44:2025 – Global Media Identifier (GMI) for distribution channels and brands
Technical Committee: ISO/TMBG (under the direction of ISO/TC 46/SC 9)
This document provides requirements and recommendations for the structure and associated metadata to be included and the governance of the Global Media Identifier (GMI) that can be assigned to all media outlets that publish content online. The identification of material or physical objects is out of scope of this document. This document also considers the GMI’s technical infrastructure and its practical implementation. It is a neutral, non-judgemental numbering or naming convention, not a certification scheme. This document does not include any provisions for the assessment of online content, e.g. as regards its trustworthiness, quality, or an outlet’s conformance with journalistic standards.”

ISO 12234-1:2025 — Digital imaging — Image storage Part 1: Reference model
Technical Committee: ISO/TC 42
“This document specifies a basic reference model for digital photography systems, including digital cameras. The reference model includes image file formats for storing image data and metadata, file system requirements for storing and retrieving the image files using internal or removable memory, and media profiles which are specific to a given storage technology. The reference model allows the image data and metadata to be interchanged among the various components of a digital photography system.”

ISO/IEC 15944-12:2025 — Information technology — Business operational view
Part 12: Privacy protection requirements (PPR) on information life cycle management (ILCM) and EDI of personal information (PI)
Technical Committee: ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 32
“This document provides method(s) for identifying, in Open-edi modelling technologies and development of scenarios, the additional requirements in business operational view (BOV) specifications for identifying the additional external constraints to be applied to recorded information in business transactions relating to personal information of an individual, as required by legal and regulatory requirements of applicable jurisdictional domains; integrates existing normative elements in support of privacy and data protection requirements as are already identified in ISO/IEC 14662 and ISO/IEC 15944-1, ISO/IEC 15944-2, ISO/IEC 15944-4, ISO/IEC 15944-5, ISO/IEC 15944-8, ISO/IEC 15944-9 and ISO/IEC 15944-10; provides overarching, operational ‘best practice’ statements for associated (and not necessarily automated) processes, procedures, practices and governance requirements that act in support of implementing and enforcing technical mechanisms which support the privacy/data protection requirements necessary for implementation in Open-edi transaction environments; focuses on the life cycle management of personal information, i.e. the contents of SPIs (and their SRIs) related to the business transaction interchanged via EDI as Information Bundles (IBs) and their associated Semantic Components (SCs) among the parties to a business transaction.”

ISO/IEC 42006:2025 — Information technology — Artificial intelligence — Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of artificial intelligence management systems
Technical Committee: ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42
“ISO/IEC 42006 sets out the additional requirements for bodies that audit and certify artificial intelligence management systems (AIMS) according to ISO/IEC 42001. It builds on ISO/IEC 17021-1 and ensures that certification bodies operate with the competence and rigour necessary to assess organisations developing, deploying or offering AI systems. AI systems present unique challenges in areas like ethics, data quality, risk, and transparency. To certify that an organisation responsibly manages these challenges, auditors themselves need specialised knowledge and clear rules for conducting assessments. ISO/IEC 42006 ensures that the audit and certification of AI management systems is performed consistently and credibly, giving customers and stakeholders confidence that certified organisations meet the expectations set out in ISO/IEC 42001.”

ISO/IEC TR 20226:2025 — Information technology — Artificial intelligence — Environmental sustainability aspects of AI systems
Technical Committee: ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 42
“This document provides an overview of the environmental sustainability aspects (e.g. workload, resource and asset utilization, carbon impact, pollution, waste, transportation, location) of AI systems during their life cycle, and related potential metrics.”

ISO 24635-1:2025 — Language resource management — Corpus annotation project management Part 1: Core model
Technical Committee: ISO/TC 37/SC 4
“This document establishes a core model of project management for corpus annotation, to specify the work packages of project teams, required processes and deliverables. This document presents the necessary components for issues such as coordination, human training, reusability, software, quality control, licensing and copyright. However, it does not specify a methodology to solve such issues.”
