NISO to Use Small Group Sessions at ALA Midwinter to Help Set Future Direction
BETHESDA, MD - January 5, 2007 - The National Information Standards Organization (NISO) will hold two days of small, interactive sessions at the American Library Association (ALA) Midwinter meeting to elicit the library community's direct input on key issues. The four main topics of discussions with Managing Director Todd Carpenter will be (1) Technology and infrastructure, (2) Committee structure, (3) Membership expansion and recruitment, and (4) Education and publication.
The one and one-half hour sessions will occur in Seattle on January 21 and 22 at the Summerfield Suites, the Ward Room on the 2nd floor, at: 8:30 - 10:00, 10:30 - 12:00, 2:00 - 3:30, and 4:00 - 5:30. Interested participants are asked to RSVP to NISO by email (nisohq@niso.org) or phone (301-654-2512), indicating a preferred date and time.
