Judy Ruttenberg is primarily responsible for managing the SHARE initiative, which is building a free, open, data set about research and scholarly activities across their life cycle. While at ARL, Judy has also directed the Transforming Research Libraries initiative, which included responsibility for e-research and special collections working groups. Judy works closely with her colleagues in public policy and diversity and inclusion in advancing the agenda of accessibility and universal design within ARL.
Prior to joining ARL in 2011, Judy was a program officer at the Triangle Research Libraries Network (TRLN) where she coordinated the work of TRLN’s collections groups, focusing on issues such as collections analysis, shared collections, and large-scale digitization.
Judy holds an MLS from the University of Maryland College Park with a specialization in archives and manuscripts, an MA in history from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a BA from the University of Michigan.
