Bill Kasdorf is Principal of Kasdorf & Associates, LLC, a publishing technology consultancy focusing on editorial and production workflows and technologies, information infrastructure, and standards and best practices alignment to future proof content and systems. Accessibility has become an aspect of almost every engagement; some are purely accessibility evaluations and recommendations, especially for EAA and ADA Title II compliance.
Bill is a founding partner of Publishing Technology Partners. Past President of the Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP), Bill is a recipient of SSP’s Distinguished Service Award, the magazine industry’s Luminaire Award, the Book Industry Study Group’s Industry Champion Award, and NISO’s Cunningham Award for his longtime service to publishing.

He is also a member of NISO, currently co-chair of NISO’s ARM (Accessibility Remediation Metadata) Working Group and past co-chair of two other NISO Working Groups. He is a member of the Book Industry Study Group (BISG), with a special focus on accessibility and EPUB implementation, serving on BISG’s Workflow Committee and its Accessibility and Metadata working groups. He is a member of the International Press Telecommunications Council (IPTC), which governs many standards for image and video metadata as well as rights and provenance metadata and other standards for the global news industry, and the DAISY Consortium for accessibility.
Bill has led seminars, written articles, and spoken widely for publishing industry organizations such as SSP, W3C, NISO, STM, AUPresses, the Charleston Conference, ALPSP, BISG, IDPF, IPTC, DBW, AAP, ALA, and the Library of Congress.
