Alanna Aiko Moore is the Librarian for Sociology, Ethnic Studies, and Critical Gender Studies at the University of California, San Diego. Alanna is currently a member of ALA Council and is the ARL Visiting Program Officer for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. Alanna is deeply involved in the profession and has served on the ALA Steering Committee for Organizational Effectiveness, the ALA Task Force for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, and has chaired the ALA Committee on Diversity. She is also a Past President of the Asian/Pacific American Librarians Association (APALA), and served as a member of the Steering Committee for the Joint Conference of Librarians of Color II. Her research interests include microaggressions, intersectionality, LGBTQ identity, emotional and invisible labor of women of color librarians, mentoring and self-care. She is a 2003 Spectrum Scholar and prior to librarianship, worked at social justice centered non-profits and community organizations.
