Tim Spalding is the founder and president of LibraryThing. LibraryThing, a "social cataloging" site for book lovers, was founded back in 2005. The site combines library and publisher metadata, and the passion of book lovers (including many librarians), to create a living metadata playground.
Since 2005, LibraryThing has branched into services for libraries, including TinyCat (an OPAC for small libraries), LibraryThing for Libraries, and now Syndetics Unbound, a catalog enhancement service co-developed with ProQuest. He lives in Portland, Maine with his wife, author Lisa Carey, and their bookish son, Liam.
