CREC Standing Committee Seeking Volunteers

NISO’s Communication of Retractions, Removals, and Expressions of Concern (CREC) Recommended Practice (NISO RP-45-2024), an important project to address the timely communication of retraction information within the scholarly ecosystem, was published in June 2024. The project is now transitioning to its next phase with the creation of the CREC Standing Committee. NISO seeks volunteers with diverse backgrounds and expertise, including librarians, publishers, and vendors, to participate.

Building on the efforts of the CREC Working Group, Standing Committee members will promote and encourage the adoption of the Recommended Practice through outreach and education. They will also provide input into and feedback on proposals to amend, expand, or otherwise improve the Recommended Practice moving forward. The group will hold regular meetings, with workload to be determined by current outputs.
