Deadline 18 July for Nominations for ORCID Board Elections
ORCID is currently accepting nominations for our 2023 Board elections from our member organizations, and we are asking for your help. We are asking our community to help us by nominating yourself, to encourage a colleague to apply, or to nominate another individual (with their permission). Nominations can be submitted using our Member Representative Director nomination form.
ORCID is a community-built organization governed by a Board that is representative of our membership and wider community stakeholders. The ORCID Board fulfills an important role in our governance by providing strategic guidance and oversight for the successful achievement of ORCID’s mission. By participating in our Board, you are able to help ensure that ORCID continues to meet your needs, and the needs of our broader community.
This year, we are seeking to fill up to four Board Director seats. In seeking perspectives and skills complementary to those of our continuing Board members, the Nominating Committee is specifically looking for candidates from member organizations who meet at least one of the following:
- Work in commercial organizations especially in the Publishing and Service Provider sectors
- Are based in the European Union or Asia-Pacific regions
- Are skilled in the areas of finance and/or technology
In addition, we are seeking up to one Board member who is an independent researcher, not necessarily affiliated with a member organization. Researcher Board members should be able to advocate on behalf of ORCID in their communities and have experience or a keen interest in organizational governance. Nominations can be submitted on our Researcher Director nomination form.
