Caitlin Bakker is the Discovery Technologies Librarian at the University of Regina, where they oversee the implementation and management of systems that enhance access to information in support of teaching, learning, and research. Since joining the University in 2022, they have led key upgrades to the Library’s Quick Find search platform—introducing features such as in-record electronic journal searching and user-submitted error reporting—and expanded access to digitized archival collections through integrated discovery tools.
Prior to their role at Regina, Bakker spent eight years at the University of Minnesota, focusing on data science, research impact assessment, systematic reviews, and open science. They are passionate about problem-solving and committed to improving the discoverability, accessibility, and usability of information resources. Their work reflects a strong collaborative ethic, particularly with colleagues across the Archer Library, Archives, and federated college libraries.
