The Modern Language Association and Silverechair announced today the launch of MLA Handbook Plus, a digital subscription version of the flagship MLA Handbook and other resources, on the Silverchair Platform.
The MLA Handbook has been in print for half a century, with a ninth edition released in April 2021. The Handbook is a mainstay for college writers, providing guidelines for writing and documentation of research in the humanities. On the Silverchair Platform, the MLA Handbook now enjoys robust search and browse functionality as well as a modern interface, making it easier for students to find and reference key information. The new digital format also enables future expansion of resources while simplifying access and optimizing the user experience for scholars, teachers, students, and libraries.
“The MLA Handbook is a critical resource, and we have been delighted to be a part of expanding its reach and usability in its new digital format,” said Thane Kerner, Silverchair CEO. “As part of the Silverchair community, MLA publications will enjoy continuous upgrades that will help them meet the demands of remote instruction and evolve their content through the ongoing addition of new features.”
“We’re thrilled that all members of a campus community can now get access to the MLA Handbook’s guidance on writing, research, and citation through their library,” said Paula M. Krebs, executive director of the Modern Language Association. “MLA Handbook Plus will ensure students and faculty members can use this trusted resource from wherever they work.”
