DEIA Committee
Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Committee
The DEIA Committee is a proactive and integral part of NISO’s commitment to foster diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility across the organization’s endeavors. Comprised of members from across the globe, representing all areas of NISO’s work — libraries, publishers, research infrastructure, service providers, and other information community organizations — alongside NISO staff members, the committee plays a vital role. Committee members are entrusted to advance NISO’s DEI Policy to realize our commitment to social justice in all our activities. This includes establishing priorities, identifying assessment criteria, and regularly monitoring and reporting on progress.
The committee’s charges extend beyond their internal impact, influencing programs and educational resources intended for the NISO community. By providing guidance on DEIA issues and advocating for under-represented groups, the committee strives to be a catalyst for positive change within the NISO organization and the broader information community.
