C4DISC Launches Toolkit for Disability Equity

June 2025

The Coalition for Diversity and Inclusion in Scholarly Publishing (C4DISC) has released its Toolkit for Disability Equity, a new guide for professionals working in scholarly communications. The Toolkit provides a much-needed resource for promoting awareness of disability and ensuring disability equity in the workplace, outlining best practices for those with disabilities and their managers and colleagues.

From the C4DISC announcement:

Including disability equity in the scholarly communications workplace is crucial—approximately 16% of the world’s working-age population has a disability. Many of these disabilities are hidden, meaning you may not even be aware that your colleagues have them. By fostering an inclusive environment, we can ensure that everyone has the opportunity to contribute their best work and feel valued within our community.
