Research Question: In an environment where academic libraries must support learning about AI, how is this being managed?
...the present study examines 70 newly developed generative AI LibGuides from academic libraries affiliated with the association of research libraries (ARL) and the Oberlin group, using the EDUCAUSE AI literacy framework.
What did the researchers glean from their investigation of LibGuides created by these libraries?
The findings reveal that most LibGuides emphasize foundational AI tools and responsible use, with less focus on advanced technical competencies related to AI creation.
Note that the research excluded discipline-specific LibGuides pertaining to AI. The authors believe that the librarians creating these general LibGuides to AI would benefit from additional depth of understanding. More training would be useful.
