With less than six months till our next NISO Plus conference (February 15-17, 2022), we’ll be bringing you monthly updates here on I/O as we count down the months, weeks, and days...
The big news for this month is that we officially welcomed our NISO Plus 2022 Planning Committee, with kickoff meetings covering all time zones — from Australia to Brazil! The 27 committee members come from 11 countries across all continents (except Antarctica) and they collectively represent all our key stakeholder groups — libraries, content providers, and the service and infrastructure organizations that support them. They come from NISO member and non-member organizations and they include past and present NISO Plus scholarship winners, Board, and committee members. Some have served on past Planning Committees, others are new this year — together they will be helping us ensure that next year’s conference is the most successful yet!
We’re also delighted to announce that, whether or not you’ve attended in the past, you can now get a taste of the conference itself, because we’ve just made the 2021 content openly available! The 90 videos contain a host of content on topics of importance to the information community, including keynotes by 2021 Miles Conrad Awardee Heather Joseph, writer and technology activist Cory Doctorow, Dr Norihiro Hagita of the Japan Science & Technology Agency, and Dr Margaret Sraku-Lartey of CSIR-Forestry Research Institute of Ghana.
We’re also sharing recordings of the discussions that followed each session, which we see as every bit as important to the success of the conference, and will really give you a taste of what to expect in 2022.
All videos are accompanied by a transcript, and can be clipped, shared, and cited as needed.
We are very grateful to Cadmore Media, who provide the repository for our video content, for their generous support.
